Cruise America, Inc., North America's largest renter of Recreational Vehicles and Motorcycles, today announced an alliance with three-time World Motorcycle Grand Prix Champion, Freddie Spencer and Freddie Spencer's High Performance Riding School.

As a major part of the alliance, Freddie Spencer will become spokesman for Cruise America's new Honda Motorcycle Rental Program. All new for this season, Cruise America will offer new 2001 Honda Motorcycles in the fleet, featuring the exciting Honda GL1800 Gold Wing touring model. This all new Goldwing is the talk of the motorcycle world. In the Super Sports category, customers will find the renowned Honda VFR800FI Interceptor sport tourer along with the awesome Honda CBR1100xx. Also introduced into the fleet this year in the dual sport category, the ever popular Honda XR650L. The Cruiser Bike class will offer the muscular Honda VTX1800 Big Twin. The VTX1800 enters the market this spring and is one of the most anticipated new models to come from Honda in years.

"We are excited to offer our customers the finest fleet of rental bikes in the world," said Randall Smalley, co-owner and CEO of Cruise America. "Honda has openly promised to capture and maintain motorcycle market dominance with innovative and advanced products. Our first-hand experience with Honda motorcycles over the past 10 years has convinced us their quality is unparalleled," said Smalley. He further stated, "my brother Robert and I attended Freddie Spencer's school this past fall. We realized, Freddie's involvement with Cruise America would be most valuable and we began talking", said Smalley.

Spencer will also assist Cruise America in promoting the "FunMover" RV, a special, fully self-contained motorhome. The "FunMover" is unique in that it comes with a full garage area in the back! The perfect vehicle for motorcycle enthusiasts and racers alike. Design work has begun on a special "Freddie Spencer Edition" of the "FunMover" that will debut soon. "I am very excited about the unique "FunMover" product, said Spencer.

As a full sponsor of the world renowned "Freddie Spencer's High Performance Riding School," Cruise America will also make rental bikes available to Freddie's students while attending the school in Las Vegas, Nevada. "We are developing a new curriculum at the school that will include a road ride after the training days. Graduates of the school will be accompanied by my instructors," said Spencer. "At the school you will learn riding techniques that you will take home with you and use on any bike on any road at any time," stated Freddie. "Our aim at the school is to make our riders more confident and safer on their motorcycles", he said.

"When we saw, first-hand, the way Freddie teaches his class, we realized that safety was a paramount goal," said Randall Smalley. We decided right then that Freddie Spencer's graduates were the kind of rental customers we wanted! Highly skilled and trained, these are safety-minded expert riders. For this reason, Cruise America will soon offer Freddie's graduates special pricing on Honda rentals anywhere, anytime, system-wide," said Smalley.

"I am thrilled to be working with Cruise America," said Spencer. "They want me to help spread the word that motorcycling is a great hobby and sport. I am pleased to help them get the word out. And, what better way to go motorcycling than to have a Cruise America RV or FunMover along for the slower times," he said. "The ability to rent a 2001 Honda motorcycle from Cruise America makes it even better", said Spencer. "They have locations all over the United States," he said.

Freddie Spencer will also be making personal appearances at Cruise America FunMover and Motorcycle displays at events all over the nation this year. "We will be kicking off the 2001 season at Daytona Bike Week in March," said Spencer. We hope to see you there to show you all the great products Cruise America has for today's modern traveling rider," concluded Spencer.
